Practice Philosophy
It is my practice to listen to you respectfully without judgment. In this therapeutic setting, you will be able to express your concerns fully and not feel rushed. I believe that the best outcome results from your active participation in all decisions. Your confidentiality and trust are cornerstones of successful treatment.

The Initial Visit
Your first visit is one hour in length. It consists of a complete psychiatric evaluation and mental status examination. I will ask what concerns you the most and what led up to today's visit. I will ask about your psychiatric and medication history, as well as your medical, social, family and substance use history. I will reach a psychiatric diagnosis, present treatment choices and, together, we will plan out a specific course of action. I will request that you forward a copy of your latest physical examination. You will need to obtain general laboratory testing as a preliminary screening for medical issues that may affect your mental health and our choice of medication.

Follow-Up Visits
Follow-up sessions are generally 30 minutes in length. We will review your present condition, response to medication and any new issues. Your treatment plan will be adjusted as needed. I will review all psychiatric, medical and laboratory information as it becomes available and share all findings with you.
