What about Insurance?
I am a provider of mental health services for Blue Cross and will bill this company for payment of services. For those with alternate insurance, I will provide you with a paid receipt to submit for possible reimbursement. I do not participate in MassHealth or Medicare.

Where should I begin?
Help begins with the first call. You will need to download and complete the Initial Evaluation forms found on the "New Patients" page. Please bring them in at the time of your first appointment.

What happens during our first appointment?
This is one hour in length and consists of you telling me your story as best you can. We will discuss your concerns and needs, past psychiatric, medical, social and family history and complete a mental status examination. I will assess your situation, arrive at a diagnosis, make recommendations for the possible use of medication and psychotherapy and work out a reasonable treatment plan with you.

What about after the first session?
These are 20 to 30 minutes in length. Early in treatment, they occur more frequently as we work toward achieving stability. During our sessions, I will help you with supportive therapy, evaluate your response to medication, make improvements as needed and guide you to continue making healthy choices. Laboratory testing is done as needed. Collaboration with your PCP, medical specialists and psychotherapist is fundamental to achieving optimal mental and physical health.
